ABOUT
Welcome! I’m Wynter Jones, a 2D artist based in Sherwood, Oregon, drawing and painting for most of my life. With a BFA from the University of Utah and an M.Ed from Portland State University, my creative path is deeply intertwined with education as I have spent the last decade teaching art to young people.
My work explores memory, identity, and the emotional residue of belief systems. In my current series, I revisit fragmented stories from my Mormon upbringing, a religion I left 25 years ago, but still left imprints on my inner world, a place a explore when I am creating. These pieces serve as both excavation and exorcism, sifting through the poetry of shame, guilt, and fear I knew so intimately as a child.
My artwork is currently being represented by Imperfecta Gallery , a dynamic art space located in downtown Portland (809 NW Flanders St.)
